Chapter 289: The Legendary Uncle Xie (3) The board was very old and shabby. A map was drawn on it using white chalk.
“Yuluo, come and look at this.”
Mu Yuluo and Ye Tianxin worked together to flip the board over so they could look at it clearly.
Behind the board was just a small section of a map.
The map was very simple, and it did not even have markings indicating the directions.
“Tianxin, you’re awesome. How did you find this?”
Mu Yuluo placed her hand on Ye Tianxin’s shoulder. She then muttered, “It would be great if there’s a boat to get us out of this place.”
“I think the probability of there being a boat is quite low.” Ye Tianxin touched her chin. She knew that the other party didn’t leave this map for nothing. There might be hidden clues that they needed to figure out. “It would probably be clothes or something like that. Even though we are on an island, the weather changes drastically daily. We don’t have a lot of clothes and will get sick easily.”
Mu Yuluo listened to Ye Tianxin’s explanation and felt that Ye Tianxin was right.
“Alright then. Let’s follow the map and look for this thing.”
“We have to make copies of this map.”
Ye Tianxin pursed her lips. They did not have paper nor pencil here. She could only find a piece of rock and draw the map onto a wall.
“Let’s go and look for stuff,” Mu Yuluo suggested.
The board had been found inside the abandoned cell. This meant that the place indicated on the map was also inside the abandoned cell.
Ye Tianxin had observed that weeds surrounded the cell. Even the most intelligent special forces soldier could not possibly erase all traces of them being here.
Furthermore, the more they thought that it was impossible for something to be there, the more likely that the thing they were looking for would be found there.
Ye Tianxin squatted on the ground and tried to remember the position of every room in the abandoned cell.
The cell had three levels, including the basement.
Ye Tianxin drew the map of the three levels of the building and compared it to the simple map they had found.
“It’s here.”
Ye Tianxin placed the rock on the spot that indicated a cell on the third floor.
“Are you sure?”
While Mu Yuluo was a computer expert, she knew nothing about these lines and maps. Rather than doing all those, she might as well code a firewall.
“I am not sure,” Ye Tianxin admitted.
Mu Yuluo could not help but roll her eyes at Ye Tianxin’s answer.
“Let’s go look around first.”
The cell had been abandoned for many years.
The floor was covered in spider webs, and some rotten fruit skins were on the floor.
The stair rails, as well as the windows, were covered in dust as they had not been maintained in years.
Ye Tianxin and Mu Yuluo went up to the third floor carefully. Mu Yuluo ran to the door of the room first. She rushed to the door excitedly only to find that it was locked.
“It’s locked!”
Ye Tianxin stretched out her hand and looked at the door lock that was commonly found in villages. She held it and examined it for a while, and felt that she could not possibly open it.
“Don’t worry,” Ye Tianxin assured Mu Yuluo. “We have Ji Nuan.”
Mu Yuluo nodded. She stood at the third-floor window and shouted as loud as she could, “Ji Nuan, we need your assistance.”
Far away on the beach, Ji Nuan, who was fishing, heard Mu Yuluo’s voice. She responded, running back, “Alright. I’m coming!”
The door lock, which had baffled Ye Tianxin and Mu Yuluo, was like a child’s play in Ji Nuan’s hands. She pulled out a black pin from her hair and stuck a part of it into the lock. She twisted it left and right and the lock came undone.
