Home Girl Urban romance SECRET MARRIAGE: REBORN AS A BEAUTIFUL MODEL STUDENT

Chapter 111: Couldn’t Bear to See Him Leave (3)

Xie Xinghe waited for Li Xingchen by the door. When he heard his wife’s voice, his scarred face softened up into an unusual gentle expression.

After Li Xingchen and Xie Xinghe left in their car, Wu Tong then went back into the house.

In the car, Li Xingchen briefly went through the bag of items that her mother had handed to her before she tossed them onto the space in the backseat.

As she paid attention to the road, she then realized that they were not taking the usual route home.

“Xinghe, where are we heading to?” she asked, confused.

When they came to a stop, Xie Xinghe turned and moved closer.

“You...,” he whispered to her ear. Li Xingchen stuttered, and her cheeks blushed.

Xie Xinghe then held her hand with his free hand and cooed, “Dear, I love you.”

Lowering her head, Li Xingchen stared at their interlocked fingers and murmured, “I love you, too.”

...

Li Qingcang and Jing Zhichen had arranged to meet in a teahouse. Jing Zhichen was already there when Li Qingcang arrived.

When the waiter lifted the bamboo curtain, Li Qingcang walked in sideways and stood in front of the table.

Jing Zhichen was seated between two girls, whom he maintained an approximate distance from, and appeared rather calm.

“There’s something that I need to talk to you about,” Li Qingcang began, and

Jing Zhichen instructed the girls, “Leave us.”

Li Qingcang then took a seat after the girls had left. However, as the horrible scent of their perfume continued to linger in the air, he flinched in disgust.

“Dude, can’t you just say what you want over the phone? What made you come all the way down here?” Jing Zhichen teased.

Li Qingcang then took out a resume and placed it on the table for Jing Zhichen to read. When Jing Zhichen saw the colored passport size photo, he asked earnestly, “Bro, is this your girlfriend?”

The lady in the photo had short hair and was wearing a white T-shirt. She looked plain and out of Li Qingcang’s league, who was blessed with good looks.

“I intend to arrange for her to work for your company. I’ll pay for her salary. Send her to this girl under the company’s name. She’ll act in Jin Xin’s movie after her college entrance exam.”

Li Qingcang then handed another photo over to Jing Zhichen. It was a photo of Ye Tianxin. She was dressed in a white dress and was paring an apple by the window when the photo was taken.

Her smile looked exceptionally warm and her features were unusually delicate. Her aura was also so otherworldly that even Jing Zhichen, who had met a fair share of women, felt certain that she would be able to garner fans all over the world if she were to carve out a career in the entertainment industry.

“Bro, how’s this girl related to you? Care to share?” he pressed on.

“She saved my life,” Li Qingcang revealed.

“Gosh, dude, you’re such an amazing person. But I can’t believe that you’re still so...” Jing Zhichen groaned and felt as though Li Qingcang had just messed up his outlook in life.

Li Qingcang proceeded to take out another contract that he had drafted in advance and handed it to Jing Zhichen. “This is your management contract with her,” he informed Jing Zhichen.

After Jing Zhichen read through the details, he had mixed reactions but was finally convinced that Ye Tianxin had indeed saved Li Qingcang’s life.

“Leave it to me. I’ll definitely do a proper job for you. Under my protection, nobody in the industry would dare to offend her,” Jing Zhichen vouched confidently.

“Besides, everyone was reluctant to give me a loan when I started my company back then, and you were the only one who believed in me, trusted my abilities. Even though I’m a major shareholder in the company, you’re the one with the final say. I promise you that I will nurture her to become one of the best actresses out there within a year,” Jing Zhichen assured.

The Jing Entertainment Company was one of the leading companies known for its ability to groom artists under its management.
