Chapter 294: Who’s the Spy? (4)
“It’s just like climbing a mountain. We can’t choose to stop just because it’s difficult. The more difficult it is, the more I want to climb this mountain. Only when you are standing at the peak can you see a different view.”
A person’s view could be limited by many things.
When a person stood at a different spot, their perspective would naturally change.
Only when a person stood at the top could they see things clearer than when they were at the bottom.
It was just like her in the past and her right now. She had lived two completely different lives.
The choices a person made at every step would shape the direction and length of one’s life.
“You have guts, Ye Tianxin,” Wei Weiwei stated. “You shouldn’t have entered the entertainment industry. You should have become a philosopher instead.”
Ji Nuan raised her hand in agreement with what Wei Weiwei had just said. She pushed her glasses up her nose and said, “I want to become a mechanical expert. It is a pity that my parents would not agree. They said that girls don’t do things like that and that if I were to spend all my time around machinery, I would become an idiot sooner or later. They want me to be like a regular girl and become a civil servant or a teacher, but I don’t want to be any of those.”
“Being a female engineer is also very impressive,” Ye Tianxin told Ji Nuan. “There are mechanical engineers in the aerospace industry and other important sectors in our country. Their works when they were younger were very exquisite, too, and it took them many years to hone their craft. Ji Nuan, do what you like and you will succeed. Each one of us has no idea how long we will Iive, but we can decide how we will live. We can’t just go along with the flow. We make a path where there is none.” Ye Tianxin winked at Ji Nuan.
Ye Tianxin’s voice went through the wireless transmitter and reached the control room.
A hint of appreciation appeared in Shouhu’s eyes. Ye Tianxin was indeed a trainee who had potential. That’s why Qie Yiyan personally chose her. She had such great insights.
Yan Lili sat at the corner in her military uniform. She was a psychologist and needed to do a psych evaluation of every person joining the training.
After the special training, she would have to write a report for each participant.
In the past, she had thought that Ye Tianxin was no match for her other than the fact that she was young.
Ye Tianxin was unlike her. Yan Lili came from a good family who could support her.
She had also once believed that Li Qingcang would one day see what was good about her.
But right now, as she observed what Ye Tianxin had said and done through the screens in the control room, Yan Lili realized that Ye Tianxin was like a piece of diamond hidden beneath fine sand. In time, her sparkle would not be contained nor dimmed.
Ye Tianxin would be unstoppable...incomparable. When that time came, Yan Lili could only feel sorry herself. She would definitely lose Li Qingcang.
Yan Lili felt an immense sense of worry. They were both young girls, but Ye Tianxin was outstanding, while her younger sister refused to be, or at least act like, a grown-up.
She could only hope that her younger sister would learn her lesson from what happened last time and stop making trouble.
“Instructor Yan, who do you think is the most outstanding out of these six trainees?”
“Ye Tianxin,” Yan Lili answered. She might not like Ye Tianxin, but she was a professional. Her assessment would not be affected by her personal feelings or thoughts.
“Why is that so?”
“She is very calm. She was caught by you all at the last minute and had not received any signal from anyone beforehand,” Yan Lili explained. “Furthermore, I saw the records from the surveillance video. She has been outstanding from the very beginning. She is an exceptional person. Of course, I am not saying that the other five are not outstanding. Ye Tianxin is inquisitive and calm. This is something that Wei Weiwei cannot match up to. Even though Wei Weiwei is also outstanding, she talks too much. When you talk too much, you make mistakes.”
