Chapter 769: I Think I Fell in Love With a Man at First Sight “Is there anything else you need?”
Mo Shi thought for a moment and said, “Nope, I don’t think so.”
“Very well, go ahead and rest. Stay by her side tomorrow and report to me immediately if anything abnormal happens. Do you understand?”
“Yes, Duke.”
By the time Xie Yi was back from washing her hands, Mo’er was already seated upright before the dining table.
“Mummy, my belly feels so hungry…”
Xie Yi bent over and planted a kiss on Mo’er’s face. She said, “Sorry, Mummy was occupied with work today.”
“Mummy, let’s eat!”
That night, they had a copper hotpot that was well-known in the Imperial Capital. As usual, Mo’er picked some food from the copper hotpot and gave it to Xie Yi.
“Xie Yi, what do you think now that you’ve visited the Imperial Capital’s hospital?”
“It’s very crowded.”
If she had to share some thoughts about the hospital, it would probably be about the number of people there.
“There are people all over the hospital. The corridors and aisles are full of people, and there are lots of patients there too.”
Shi Han picked a thinly sliced mutton and started cooking it in the hotpot. He said, “The Imperial Capital’s the world’s most populated country, so the population in the Capital’s also relatively dense. It’s no surprise that there’re so many people there. Oh right, who are you operating on?”
“It’s an old lady who went into a vegetative state after a car accident. She’s suffering from a cerebral hemorrhage, and the doctors in the hospital aren’t willing to perform the surgery on her.”
Mo’er childishly said, “Mummy can do it. Mummy’s the best, best, best doctor in the world.”
Xie Yi smiled affectionately after hearing what Mo’er said. She said, “That’s right, Mummy’s also the best, best, best Mummy in the world.”
Mo Er patted his chest and beamed, “I’m also the best, best, best baby in the world.”
“You two…”
Shi Han was a little dumbfounded.
Xie Yi and Mo’er made a face at Shi Han together, “What?”
“Nothing. Let’s eat.”
After dinner, Mo’er ran excitedly to the yard to build a snowman while Shi Han and Xie Yi had tea on the sofa.
Xie Yi thought about the tall and sturdy man that she met at the elevator. The thought of him made her blush without her even realizing it.
“Shi Han, I think I fell in love with a man at first sight.”
Shi Han was drinking his tea when Xie Yi said that, so he spluttered and looked at Xie Yi in astonishment. He wasn’t sure how to describe how he was feeling after hearing what Xie Yi said.
Love at first sight?
Did Xie Yi fall for a man just after looking at him once?
“Are you sure about that?”
Seemingly bored, Xie Yi traced the rim of her teacup with her fingertips and said, “I’m not too sure, but my heart beats like crazy whenever I see him.”
Shi Han held his head in his hands. He thought that it might’ve been a good thing if Xie Yi did fall in love with a guy at first sight.
“Well, do you know his name? His address? Is he married or single? If you truly like him as much as you say you do, I dare you to go after him!”
Xie Yi gently put down her teacup and looked outside the window. With a hint of melancholy in her voice, she said, “I can’t go after him. He’s married.”
“He’s married?”
Shi Han thought the information was a little too much for him.
He stood up and looked at Xie Yi. Honestly, If the guy Xie Yi liked was single, he was willing to do anything to bring him to Xie Yi even if it meant tying him up and dragging him all the way against his will.
The problem was that he was already married.
He couldn’t possibly do something so immoral.
“Yeah. He’s the son-in-law of my patient.”
Shi Han took a sip of tea. He cleared his throat and said, “Xie Yi, I’m sure you’ll still fall in love at first sight with others in the future.”
Xie Yi firmly said, “Shi Han, I won’t fall in love at first sight with anyone else anymore.”
