“You’re awake?”
Shi Han saw that Xie Yi’s eyelashes fluttered slightly and beamed in delight. She finally woke up from her sleep.
Xie Yi gazed at Shi Han.
He looked tired, with a haggard face and bloodshot eyes. It was clear that he had not rested well.
She developed a habit of subconsciously glancing at the digital clock by her bedside table every morning when she woke up.
The date displayed on the digital clock differed from her expectations, so she must have fainted again.
“Did I faint again?”
Although Shi Han expected this to happen, he still felt kind of disappointed.
“Yeah, you fainted. Do you recognize where we are now?”
Xie Yi hesitated for a moment and tried recollecting her memory, “Is this the Imperial Capital?”
“Correct, we’re at the Imperial Capital. Xie Yi, let’s go back home.”
Over the past few days, when Xie Yi was still unconscious, Shi Han had been thinking and waiting.
He was waiting for her to regain consciousness.
He planned to leave this place with her after she woke up from her sleep.
It did not matter if Xie Yi had no memories of her past since they would always be family to each other no matter what.
“Didn’t I purposely come here for the operation? I couldn’t possibly leave without doing that, right?”
Xie Yi still remembered that she came here for the operation.
Shi Han seemed unsure of how to respond. He pressed the call bell, and a servant came into the room to serve porridge for Xie Yi.
“You must be hungry after sleeping for so long. Eat first. We’ll discuss the operation after that.”
“Okay.”
While Xie Yi ate her meal, she glanced at Shi Han.
Shi Han remained silent the whole time, which caused Xie Yi’s heart to surge with anxiety.
She was confused about what happened during the time that she lost her memories.
She was even more confused about why she fainted again.
What happened to her right before she fainted?
There were no answers to all these incidents.
“Shi Han, can you tell me why I fainted? What happened to me before then...?”
Shi Han took out the surgery proposal written by Xie Yi before the operation.
“This is the proposal for the operation that was scheduled for you to carry out, Xie Yi. However, I don’t think you’re fit to operate in your current mental state. I suggest that you give up on the operation. Let’s return to our country together instead.”
Xie Yi flipped through the surgery proposal that she prepared. It was well-written, and there were no problems with the contents.
“I want to operate. Can we return to our country after the operation?”
Shi Han shook his head. “No, Xie Yi. Your condition’s worse than expected. It might lead to other discomforts or symptoms if you forced yourself to go through with the operation.”
Xie Yi clutched the surgery proposal in her hands tightly. She shook her head and said, “Shi Han, this operation caught my eye at first glance back then. I must operate for the old lady, although I’m not sure why. I believe it may be God’s guidance. I understand that you worry about my condition, but I promise that I’ll leave the Imperial Capital with you once the operation’s completed.”
“The problem is the other party may not agree to let us operate again.”
Xie Xuning’s party might refuse to let them operate again after witnessing Xie Yi’s incident in the operation room.
Xie Yi could vaguely guess that something was wrong from Shi Han’s response.
However, her scalp throbbed as if it might split apart anytime whenever she tried hard to recall what happened.
She took a deep breath and gave up thinking about it.. It was pointless to do so.
