Chapter 546 : Inviting the Wolf Over
“You!”
Li Ruo turned red with range. She pointed a trembling finger atYao Tang, at a loss for words.
“Okay, that’s enough.” Yang Nianlooked serious when he turned to her. “Don’t say anything more,Li Ruo.”
Li Ruo had no choice but to keep her mouth shut and settle for glaring atYao Tang.
Seeing that she was listening to him, Yang Nianturned his attention back toYao Tang. His expression softened considerably, and he spoke to her in a gentle voice.
“Forgive my stubbornness, Student Yao, but since you’re here, why don’t you come to my party and have a good time? We have plenty of good food. And desserts, too. What do you think?”
“That’s right!” Someone else chimed in from the sidelines. “You’re here anyway, so come and have some fun with us!”
“Right, right. Young Master Yangwas kind enough to invite you. This opportunity doesn’t come by very often, so you should just grab it. Join us!”
“Come, come!”
Yao Tang glanced sideways atYang Nian, a complicated emotion swirling in her eyes.
She had just cheated his father out of a valuable artifact, and now the son was earnestly inviting her into their abode. Should she just oblige and make the best out of this situation?
Yang Nian didn’t know why, but when he metYao Tang’s gaze, he felt a chill run down his spine, and the urgent need to flee.
He was quick to dismiss it, though.
He looked at Yao Tangwith all the sincerity he felt. “Come and join us.”
Yao Tang inhaled sharply and asked, “Are any of your family members around? Like your elders, perhaps?”
The question gave Yang Nianpause, and he was unable to respond right away.
“No,” he said slowly. “I came to City Aalone. None of my relatives are here.”
Yang Jiang had flown over in secret. This naturally meant that he didn’t want anyone to know his presence in the city, andYang Niancouldn’t very well expose his own father.
But Yao Tanghad noticed the slight shift in his expression and knew thatYang Jiangwas in the mansion.
Finally, she nodded and said, “Sure, then.”
Lin Xin had been in a foul mood lately.Yao Tangshould take advantage of this time and have her fun with the head of the Yang family.
After all, he was the main culprit that had driven the Lin family out of the capital.
Yang Nian’s face instantly lit up, and he beamed at Yao Tang. Another buzz went around as the other guests exchanged opinions yet again.
Most of them had been sure that Yao Tang would say yes in the end.
Yang Nian looked around but saw no car, and realized thatYao Tangmust have walked her way here. “Student Yao, why don’t you take my car? There’s still some distance to go until we get into the villa.”
“Okay.”
Yao Tang was staring at him pensively.
This boy was unknowingly inviting a wolf into his house, oblivious to what she had done just a few hours ago.
Yao Ran felt a spike of excitement. She sidled up next toYao Tang.
“I don’t want to leave Sister by herself, so I’ll go with her in the car. How about that? Young Master Yang, you wouldn’t mind having one more person, right?”
She winked at Yang Nianplayfully.
Unfortunately, Yao Tangruthlessly shot her down in the next second. “That won’t be necessary. I don’t need your company.”
Yao Ran bit her lip. “Sister, I’m only worried that you might feel lonely. Don’t you want to have me around? If so, then I’d gladly leave the party…”
Before she could say anything else, Yao Tangturned to a random girl in a ponytail and asked, “Can I go with you instead?”
The girl looked like a deer caught in headlights. “Me?”
Her face flushed in excitement and she nodded eagerly. “Of course, Student Yao. You’re more than welcome to join me in my car!”
Yao Ran’s face twitched as she watched the two girls get into a vehicle nearby.
Yao Tang was more devious than she had expected. She was baiting theYoung Master Yangand leaving him in suspense, all so that she could lead him on.
Yao Ran didn’t believe thatYao Tangwasn’t attracted toYang Nian’s wealth and power. No girl in her right mind would feel that way.
She glanced at Yang Nianout of the corner of her eye.
As expected, his gaze was fixed on Yao Tang, who didn’t even spare him a single backward glance.
