Chapter 551 : Heart Skips a Beat
Yao Ran shook her head understandingly. “Please don’t worry about me, it’s my fault. In fact, I should be apologizing to you for giving you so much trouble,” she said, waving her hand up in the air.
“If you could just place me in the shower, I’ll be thankful.”
However, what he didn’t seem to catch was a flash of mischief in her eyes and smile as she stared up at him. Her eyelashes fluttered just a bit.
Yang Nian hesitated for a moment.
“Do you think you’ll be okay in there?” he asked. “Should I call on some other students to come and help you? I’m sure they’ll be more than willing to help.”
Since she had sprained her ankle, it would be even worse if she had accidentally fallen in the shower alone. No one would be there to assist her.
If an accident had happened under the Yang Family’s watch, he wouldn’t be able to live that down. Despite this, Yao Ran didn’t seem fazed.
“There’s no need. I can do this,” she said firmly.
Seeing the doubt in his eyes, she hurriedly explained. “I’m just…I don’t want others to see me like this. It’s already embarrassing enough.”
Ah.
That was true. If he were the one in her position, he also wouldn’t want others to see him in such a vulnerable state. With this, he took a step back.
Once the doctor had arrived, Yao Ran would’ve almost finished taking a shower. This was fine. “If you need anything, then you’ll tell me immediately, all right?”
There was a shower and a bathtub in the bathroom. It might be safer to take a bath in the bathtub. That way, they could avoid any more accidents.
Yao Ran nodded gratefully. “Thank you. I’ll also bring my phone,” she said, motioning to her cell. “I’ll just call you if I need anything, okay?”
“Of course. I’ll carry you now.”
After saying that, Yang Nian walked forward and gently carried her into the bathroom. Once he finally set her down, he placed some bottles of shower gel and body wash within arm’s reach. “Here’s everything you need.”
He then turned around and stepped out of the bathroom.
“I’ll go out first,” he called out from the other side of the room. “When you’re done, you can call me.”
She heard the door close, and the corners of her lips twitched into a smile. Despite the sharp throbbing of her ankle, a trace of joy flashed in her eyes.
..
As soon as Yao Tang walked up to the second floor, she saw Yang Niancarrying Yao Raninto one of the guest rooms. However, she didn’t stay there much longer.
Instead, she walked to another room, looking for a possible location for the Head of the Yang Family.
From the looks of it, he should be in the bedroom or the study.
With a slow nod, she headed for these two directions.
The houseworkers of the villa quickly walked past Yao Tang, but they didn’t seem to see her. Instead, they were too focused on their complaints as they threw their hands up in the air.
It was as if she was completely invisible.
In the study, Yang Jiang stared at the words on the screen. His eyebrows were furrowed together before he smashed the cup onto the table.
It seemed that the other party hadn’t violated any of the regulations.
What the hell was this? He applied again, but the second application showed no violations.
However, the results were the same as his previous application.
Not only did he pay the fees for these two appeals, but he didn’t even get the results he needed.
Just the thought of the money he had wasted made his heart ache.
If his family members found out about this, they wouldn’t let him live this down.
Yang Jiang’s heart sank, and his jaw clenched.
He paced around the study, his hands clenched into fists. What was he going to do now?
Just then, he dialed a number on his phone and brought it to his ear.
“How are the Lin Family members doing?”
His face became much more relaxed when he heard what the other person said.
However, before he could respond, he heard the sound of the door opening.
“Who is it? Who’s there?”
However, when he glanced at the door, he couldn’t see anyone.
Who was that? He frowned in confusion.
However, when he didn’t see anyone coming in from the outside, he returned to his study. Perhaps, it was just all in his head.
