Chapter 288 : The Association Made Its Move
“We’re going to be rich in no time!” Assistant Ma clapped in excitement. However, when he started reading the details of his boss’s post, he couldn’t help but be a little worried.
“Brother Peng, you stated that you found a professional expert, but you didn’t. If someone finds out—”
“How could anyone find out? You worry too much, man.” Wang Peng snorted, rolling his eyes. “As long as you don’t say it and I won’t say it, how could anybody know?”
“Besides,” he continued. “Those people on the internet are idiots. They’d believe everything we throw at them. Why would they dig any deeper? It’s also impossible that a high school student could manage to do all of that.”
Without another word, he hung up and turned to look at his phone, enjoying the notifications.
Sitting in an empty classroom, on the other side of the city, were Zhang Dong and his friends. They stared at Wang Peng’s post in disbelief.
Did they really expect the principal would put his name out in the line?
These netizens really didn’t know anything!
Principal Kong had made it extremely clear that it hadn’t been staged. However, the moment this lousy coach stated his opinion, everyone started to believe him.
What should they do now?
If the principal’s words were regarded as useless for them, then how could ordinary students like them reverse the situation?
The boys shared worried looks with one another, unsure of the situation at hand.
“Brother Dong, who exactly is this Wang Peng? Why is he talking nonsense in public?” He frowned. “He has quite a few fans.”
“I’m...”
Zhang Dong sighed.
The surrounding students turned around. All of them stared at Zhang Dong, wanting to know who Wang Peng was. He actually dared to lie in public, and he had all these people backing him up!
Most of them loved to play basketball. If they were talking about the star basketball players or coaches, they would know them like the back of their hand. However, when it came to the tennis coach, they were confused by all the names and terminologies.
Zhang Dong knew, but he just didn’t know how to explain it. “Wang Pengused to be a professional tennis player,” he slowly said. “He retired and became a coach later on. He even acted as a referee in a few games. However, he’s much better known on the internet, gaining a certain fanbase.”
“However, there are rumors that he’s easily bribed. In fact, he made the most money acting as a referee, but there was no evidence of this.” He frowned. “I think he has some bad intentions with his post.”
After saying this, a tanned boy shot his fist up in the air. “Then, let’s fuck him up!”
“Right! That damn liar!”
“He must’ve received money.”
“He’s just another trash we have to deal with.”
“But,” one of the guys hesitated. “What can we do?”
Zhang Dong shook his head. “If only the National Sports Association would clarify things for us. They’re the only ones who can clear the air.”
“The National Sports Association?”
“Then how can we contact them?”
“Damn, I didn’t expect that Principal Kong’s post would be regarded so casually. Student Yao Tang has suffered enough rumors. She didn’t deserve to be slandered by these people.”
Just as everyone was talking, one of the boys raised his phone excitedly. “Wait! Look at your phones,” he yelled out. “The National Sports Association posted a statement. They wanted to clarify the matter regarding Yao Tang!”
