Chapter 584 : Worked Hard
Although the President knew that he might have spoken out of hand, he was still unwilling to back down.
“Compared to a great high school, isn’t this place a bit…too shabby?”
The two men looked like they were about to quarrel. Yao Tang glanced at their narrowed eyes and felt her head start to pound. With a sigh, she turned to the President. “Thank you for your sincere invitation, but I really don’t intend to play tennis.”
Hearing Yao Tang’s words, Principal Kong breathed a sigh of relief.
There was a trace of pride in his eyes as he shook his head apologetically. “I’m sorry. Although Yao Tang is a student under my watch, there’s really nothing else I can do to convince her.” He sighed. “She’s, after all, in her senior year. It’s normal for her to want to concentrate on her academics.”
“I’m sure you understand, right?”
Understand?
Understand his ass?
The President almost wanted to curse out loud. This girl obviously didn’t care less about the extra points or even the guaranteed spot.
She needed to concentrate on her studies?
The middle-aged man glanced over at Yao Tang’s table. He could see a cup of milk tea placed right on the corner with a box of biscuits sitting right beside it.
Moreover, when he arrived a little earlier, he could see that the teacher was the one who had handed that paper box to Yao Tang.
It was a small pastry.
At first, he had assumed that the box held some school supplies, but her deskmate immediately opened it. There, he could see the pink frosting right on top.
He was speechless.
Other than the scattered food on her desk, he could see two notebooks casually placed on the front.
He didn’t know if they held any notes or they were just there for display.
He could see “Music Score” written on the cover.
Was it really that hard for her to concentrate?
The President took a deep breath.
It seemed that there was no other way to change her mind. Since that was the case, he’d wait for another chance in the future.
He took out a business card from his wallet and handed it over to her. “It’s okay if you don’t want to participate now. But if you do want to come over and practice, you can call me anytime. We’ll always be there to welcome you.”
Principal Kong stood at the side with a scowl. He didn’t want her to accept it.
However, to maintain his well-kept image, he watched as the young student accepted the card.
This was fine. After all, she had already rejected his invitation. It would be unlikely that she’d participate in such a competition again. Accepting the card was simply formalities.
Thinking of this, his smile deepened.
After Principal Kong sent him off, Zhang Dongalso returned to his classroom. With a shake of her head, Yao Tangwalked back into her classroom when she noticed everyone was looking at her. “What?”
“That’s the Sports Association! Are you really not going to accept their invitation?”
“Don’t you think it’s a good deal?”
“There are so many people who would’ve wanted to go, but they didn’t have the chance.”
“I’m really not going,” she replied directly.
She was far too lazy to go.
In fact, she was too lazy to even participate in the match.
Everyone knew her character. If she said that she wasn’t going, then she really wasn’t. After all, this wasn’t much of a big deal for her.
When the class ended, Lin Xin grabbed her phone and saw the trending hashtag on her social media account.
#TheAmbassadoroftheSportsAssociation
#ShengTing’sEndorsement
#AmbassadorofRoyalClubTennisAssociation
Lin Xin blinked in surprise.
Interesting.
A few days ago, the Sports Association announced that Sheng Ting was their ambassador. Now, the Royal Club Association announced its own ambassador.
It was Li Zhou!
While he wasn’t a superstar, he was the heir of an extremely prestigious family in Beijing.
