Chapter 691 : Meteorite Disappeared
“I can’t find it!”
Bai Jing searched the crater as carefully as he could. He even took out his equipment so that he’d be alerted if it spotted any foreign substance he couldn’t. But in the end, he found nothing.
He could only wave at Yao Yan helplessly,
It’s impossible for a large crater to be empty. There was one possibility for this. Someone must’ve taken it before them.
They were just a step too late.
The blue people in uniforms bowed their heads. “The person who had stolen the meteorite shouldn’t have gone too far,” they whispered amongst each other. “Major Yao could still catch up.”
It hadn’t been long since the earthquake.
After Yao Yan’s team had gotten the exact location, they immediately rushed over. Even if they weren’t able to acquire the meteorite with their own hands, it wouldn’t be too late for them to find the one who had taken it.
Taking a deep breath, he decided to pursue the meteorite.
However, he couldn’t help but glance at the young girl behind him. Yao Tang was still at his side. They still needed to protect her.
“Tangtang, take care of yourself. I’ll call you to the front when it’s safe,” he instructed. “If there’s anything you need, call me.”
She slowly nodded.
He then turned to some of the members of his team to protect her.
Without another word, the group ventured forward.
..
“Those in the front, stop immediately.” A sharp voice echoed across the forest. “If you don’t stop, then we’ll shoot you on the spot!”
In the air, an arrow came whizzing past, striking through the man’s jacket. The man froze as the dangerous arrow glinted under the sky.
However, he had no other choice! He had to run!
He couldn’t stop!
In the next second, a tall man appeared in his vision and caused him to stumble onto the ground. Panicked, the young man struggled to stand up, but it was already too late. He was surrounded.
Qin Hao stepped out of the shadows, grinning. “That’s him, right?”
Cheng Yan nodded. There was no emotion in his eyes.
It seemed that they had finally caught up to him.
“Bah!”
Qin Hao held the dagger in his hand as he walked over to the man. His smile widened even further as he squatted right beside the captured male. “Do you have it?” he asked.
“Have what? I don’t have anything!”
The man lying on the ground shook his head. He paled, scared, but he still forced himself to lie.
“You still say you don’t have it?” Qin Hao scowled. “If you didn’t take it, then why did you run? Or do you really want to be interrogated by the officers from the search team?”
The man on the ground was so scared that he was visibly shaking. Fear was evident in his eyes, but he didn’t seem to change his words.
The man was also a foreigner, and he didn’t really come to City A through legal means.
Now that the search team was mentioned, he was naturally terrified.
The search team was part of a larger government department.
The new boss was Bai Jing. It was stated that his methods knew no limits. He really made people’s lives so much worse. If he was sent there, they wouldn’t kill him, but they’d peel him a new layer of skin.
“Well, it seems like we were all fated to meet today.” Bai Jing walked out from the depths of the forest. He held a fan in his hand as a graceful smile was painted across his features.
Everyone paled.
Cheng Yan saw the symbol on their chests, and the light in his eyes flickered.
Even Qin Hao was speechless.
How could they have arrived this quickly?
And Bai Jing was leading them?
When he turned around, he saw Yao Tang from the back of the ground. The girl’s temperament never failed to amaze him. She looked as cool and calm as a pickle.
“Hey, Yao Tang, you’re here too?”
Qin Hao was excited. He was about to say a few more words to catch up with her when he felt a sinister gaze fall on his back. He froze.
Upon glancing at the side, he immediately shut up.
Why didn’t anyone tell him that Yao Yan was also here?
Now wasn’t a good time to catch up?
Bai Jing walked over to the person on the ground. While he appeared to be smiling, the sinister look in his eyes was enough to scare anyone into silence.
