Home Girl Urban romance FEROCIOUS BOSS: HUBBY, LET'S GET MARRIED

Chapter 183: I’m Acting Behind Her Back

Yue Tingfeng replied, “Correct.”

He stared directly at Miss Mai’s eyes and did not shy away from her gaze. Instead, he upped his shamelessness to the maximum and overpowered Miss Mai to a point where she was not able to look up.

Yue Tingfeng was telling her in no uncertain terms: ‘I’m acting behind your actress’ back. You think you can do anything about it?’

Miss Mai felt a pain in her chest. “CEO Yue, aren’t you worried that Yan Qingsi will get angry at you if she knew?”

Yue Tingfeng’s answer nearly made Miss Mai vomit blood, for he told her, “What does her anger have to do with me?”

By then he would be her boss already. What else can her obstinance do?

Yue Tingfeng’s methods were uncomplicated and cruel anyway. Seeing as Helan Fangnian was still in the dark over everything, he wanted to make sure that he had the ‘Devil’s Contract’ for Yan Qingsi, thereby holding her freedom in the palm of his hand. Things would have been much easier to deal with from then onward.

His many years of experience in the business world imparted in him the knowledge of which methods were the fastest, most convenient, and most effective.

It was best to take drastic measures while everyone had not yet responded. By the time the situation developed, everything would have already become a foregone conclusion. Yan Qingsi might make a fuss, but the most she could do was get angry because, in the end, she was already in his grip.

Miss Mai clenched her jaw. “What a nice strategy, CEO Yue.”

Jiang Lai placed the contract in front of her. “Take a look at the terms, Miss Mai. If you have no objections, then please sign it.

Miss Mai perused the contract quickly. The terms were unambiguous and she would benefit immensely from it. Yue Tingfeng wanted ownership rights, but he would not be participating in any operations. The percentage allotment for his interests was only symbolic, as he took only three percent. Aside from that, he gave them unlimited funding and support.

The benefits for the studio alone was like a delicious piece of reddish roasted meat that Yue Tingfeng dangled in front of her to whet her appetite.

There was no significance as to whether Miss Mai signs the agreement or not, for Yue Tingfeng would get his hands on everything one way or another.

With a heavy heart, Miss Mai said, “Yan Qingsi’s relationship with me is not simply that of actress and agent. We’re friends. If I sign this contract, it would be no different to selling Yan Qingsi to you, wouldn’t it?”

Jiang Lai replied immediately. “Of course not. With the Yue clan as her backer, we can provide better planning for Miss Qingsi. We can deal with any trouble that may arise. All you need to do is continue your plan of helping Yan Qingsi achieve greater heights. Leave everything else to us.”

Jiang Lai was nervous as he tried showing his best to Yue Tingfeng. The only thing he hoped for was that he would not be sent away and punished.

Miss Mai had high hopes for Yan Qingsi. She knew that Yan Qingsi had ambition, but she also knew—more than anyone—that ambition was not enough in the entertainment industry’s muddy world.

Yan Qingsi had only just kickstarted her career when people began large-scale, pre-meditated smear campaigns against her. Hidden hands were ready to hurl stones at her, and there was no telling what else she may need to face in the future.

Without someone powerful backing them, it was a monumental task to try and reach the top by themselves. It would be doubly hard for them in the days to come.

Although Miss Mai was a highly experienced agent who knew how best to shape Yan Qingsi, the one thing lacking was a strong backer.

Yue Tingfeng had given them a leg up, and a rather robust one at that!

Miss Mai looked at the document and found it hard to grapple with her emotions.

She gnashed her teeth and looked directly into Yue Tingfeng’s handsome yet indecipherable face. “If I sign this document, I hope...you won’t go hard on her.”

Yue Tingfeng replied calmly, “I won’t go hard on her, of course.”
