Chapter 401: The Truth Is, I Miss You!
Helan Xiuse moved to stand in front of Helan Fangnian and exclaimed in surprise, “Mom... what are you doing? Bother’s still injured, the doctors say he’s got a mild concussion and needs to avoid getting injured the second time on his head, how could you do this?”
Mrs. Helan did not look at Helan Xiuse but kept her icy glare on Helan Fangnian. “I originally thought that you were just looking for a fling with Yan Qingsi, I never thought you’d actually fall for her. I’m warning you, get rid of those feelings right now, you can be with whoever you want but her! As long as I live, don’t even think of being together with her, or else, I’ll go to any lengths to destroy her.”
Mrs. Helan finished and stormed off.
Helan Fangnian chuckled. “I’m not willing for her to bear your sins.”
“Brother, what did you say?”
“Go home.”
...
Yan Qingsi was not seriously injured. While public opinion was swirling and rising, her single, thoughtless post on Weibo had unintentionally cleaned her reputation completely. A group of fans was already working to change the opinions of the public, from haters to neutrals, and from neutrals to fans.
Yan Qingsi’s fans had even created their own support group of their own initiative, and all the fans called themselves Qingsies![1]
They had even divided themselves into brigades, publicity, public relations, minesweepers, and more...
In the public relations brigade, their sole function was to carry out cyberbullying. Whoever dared to hate on our Si’er, they would form groups to drown them out with insults.
The minesweeper brigade would focus on fake news about Yan Qingsi and refute the rumors.
The company also started to receive letters and gifts from fans. Seeing the pile of handwritten letters, Yan Qingsi felt for the first time that this was what it meant to be an artist—to be adored by so many and that she could be so happy.
Yan Qingsi looked at the pile of gifts and letters and she was happier than she had ever been before.
She felt that the purpose of her being a star was because she wanted to be adored by others—too many people in the world hated her.
She also wanted to know what it was like to be loved by many people.
Shooting for Requiem had wrapped up and it was now in the post-production phase. The accident had apparently drawn a lot of attention to this show, like a blessing in disguise.
Yan Qingsi had just been discharged from the hospital, Lil’ Xu had brought his friend over to see Yan Qingsi. She was a petite girl, with a chubby, round face. Although she was small, she was strong, stronger than a man.
Yan Qingsi saw promise in her and retained her. After a few days, she could confirm that this girl was loyal.
After shooting Requiem, Yan Qingsi recovered for a short period. Meanwhile, she attended a few shoots for advertisements and cover pages before she began to prepare herself to join the cast of The Scent of Her.
After finishing a shoot for a perfume commercial, Yan Qingsi was resting in the makeup room when she received a call from Yue Tingfeng.
“Yan Songnan wants to meet you, I’m currently overseas and I can only come back next week. Don’t go on your own, wait for me to come back and I’ll go together with you.”
Yan Qingsi smiled. “He’s in jail, what could he possibly do to me?”
“Just be good and wait until I come back.”
Yan Qingsi heard Yue Tingfeng’s voice and gently ran her finger over the table, laughing. “Okay, I’ll wait until you’re back then.”
“Do you miss me?” Yue Tingfeng asked.
“You want me to tell the truth?”
Yue Tingfeng could be heard kicking a table over the line. “Forget it then...”
Jiang Lai stretched his neck and yelled, “Boss, it’s time for the meeting...”
“You bastard...” Yue Tingfeng said under his breath, “I need to go, I’ll be back soon.”
Just as he was about to hang up, Yan Qingsi spoke, “I miss you...”

[1]: A wordplay on Qingsi’s name, the ‘Qing’ in this part is the word for ‘romance’; ‘Si’ here means fans.
