Chapter 554 : What Sin Did the Hu Family Commit?
“Is that so?” Qin Muye raised a brow, knowing that it would take a miracle for Wei Zhiqian to not show up if Tan Mo was there. “Let’s head in.”
Qin Muye led her best friend to the hall where the party was being hosted.
“Qin Murong’s fiancé, the one from the Hu Family, is here too,” Qin Muye whispered to Tan Mo. “Of course, Qin Murong is here as well. She’s having her makeup done in one of the suites. They don’t plan to host a wedding. That’s why this party serves as a way for the newlyweds to greet everyone. I mean, there’s no way the newlyweds will be absent at their own wedding party, right? You’ll be able to meet the groom when the party starts.”
Tan Mo had to admit that she was curious as to how the groom looked like.
“What do you think of the groom?” Tan Mo asked curiously.
“He’s not bad. Even though he isn’t that good-looking, he’s still decent enough. Though, there’s a hint of wildness in his eyes,” Qin Muye replied.
“Wildness?” Tan Mo couldn’t picture how that looked like.
Qin Muye thought about it and described it. “How do I put this? It’s like he’s a wolf and sometimes shows hints of a fierce beast in his eyes.”
“Well, I’ll get to see it once the party starts. I heard he’s also the heir of the Hu family, right? It isn’t that easy to achieve what the family did when they are situated at the border. They need to be cruel enough to do that. If he’s really as cruel as you’re describing him, Qin Murong will only suffer if she still remains the same.” Tan Mo sighed.
Qin Muye nodded and decided to change the topic. “Oh! Did you hear about this? Wei Keli is moving to Nacheng as well!”
“What?” Tan Mo exclaimed. “Does he like Qin Murong that much?”
She never expected that Wei Keli had such a deep feeling for Qin Murong, always thinking that he got close to the lady from the Qin family for his benefit.
Tan Mo thought that Wei Keli had developed feelings for Qin Murong after having a long-standing good friendship with her, to the point where he would follow her to Nacheng even when she was going to marry someone there.
She thought it was touching to a certain extent.
Qin Muye was at a loss for words when she heard that. “Wait... No... How did you even come to that conclusion?”
Tan Mo blinked, wondering if she was wrong.
“Wei Keli has been ordered to intern there,” Qin Muye said.
“What?” Tan Mo’s eyes widened.
“My brother told me that.”
Tan Mo looked at her best friend, not expecting her brother to be such a busybody.
She didn’t know that the reason Qin Mufeng was like that was that Qin Muye loved to gossip.
That was why, even though the brother wasn’t that interested in gossips, he would still pay attention to it.
Whenever he heard gossip, he would tell Qin Muye right away as soon as he got home.
That was why Qin Muye knew about what happened to Wei Keli before Tan Mo did.
“He still hasn’t finished his senior year yet, so he still isn’t an intern at Weifeng Company. However, Brother Zhiqian suddenly sent him to Nacheng, saying that it’s a good chance for Wei Keli to learn how they tackle a new market,” Qin Muye explained as she knew all the little detail. “Naturally, Wei Keli was against the decision, but Brother Zhiqian gave him two options. Either he goes to Nacheng as a Weifeng Company’s intern or forfeits his chance to work at Weifeng Company in the future, meaning that he will forfeit the resources that the Wei family will provide him. Brother Zhiqian did not give him any chance to reject, knowing that Wei Keli would never abandon the resource the Wei Family has to offer. That’s why he has no choice but to go to Nacheng.”
After hearing that, the first thing Tan Mo thought was that Wei Zhiqian was as reliable as ever.
Now that Wei Keli was going to another city, he would not bother her anymore.
“When will he be leaving?” Tan Mo asked.
“Next Monday.”
Tan Mo gasped, not expecting him to leave so early, which was a good thing for her.
“Weifeng Company’s contact in Nacheng is the Hu family as well,” Qin Muye said as she curled her lips. “Seriously, what did the Hu family do in the past to warrant such bad luck? They literally have to take care of two pieces of trash.”
Tan Mo couldn’t help but agree.
They chatted all their way to the hall.
The Qin family was considerable enough to arrange for Tan Mo to sit with the Wei family as she was basically family with them, and it would be easier for her to dine that way.
At the same time, Qin Murong was getting her makeup done in a suite.
She was wearing a traditional Chinese wedding dress.
Even though the wedding wasn’t held at the hotel, she still had to meet with everyone.
Qin Murong had already met with her future husband.
If she were to comment, she would say that he was pretty much normal-looking. At least he wasn’t ugly.
Even though his facial features were decent, they weren’t unique.
There was a huge difference between her future husband and Wei Zhiqian.
Qin Murong had been surrounded by good-looking men since she was a child.
From Qin Mufeng and Qin Zigou from the Qin family to Wei Zhiqian from the Wei family, the men from the Eight Great Clan were handsome.
Since she had been growing up in such a state, her requirement for her husband became high.
Naturally, normal-looking people would not even enter her radar.
When she thought of Hu Ruixing’s face, she would frown.
She couldn’t believe that a beauty like her would have to marry a normal-looking man. No matter how she looked at it, she was the one who had to suffer from the marriage.
It would even be hard for her to go out with her future husband.
Even though she would lose contact with her friends once she got to Nacheng, it still wouldn’t stop them from gossiping about her.
She couldn’t help but think of how her friends would laugh at her.
As the young lady of the Qin family, she had to endure the humiliation of marrying into a small family in a small city such as Nacheng.
There was no way her friends would not laugh at her and mock her.
Normally, Qin Murong was the leader among her group of friends.
Ever since she was doomed to marry Hu Ruixing, she started receiving messages from her friends to ask whether if what they heard was true.
The moment her friends learned that she was indeed leaving for Nacheng, it proved that she had been abandoned by her family.
That was why, one by one, they started to ignore her.
Even before she left Nacheng, her friends stopped inviting her to their gatherings.
They even had a new leader for the group.
For her wedding party, she didn’t even invite any of her friends.
She didn’t even have a wedding for her marriage, only a party.
It was the biggest humiliation of her life. There was no way she would want her friends to see her like that.
As the stylist was applying makeup on Qin Murong, her assistant, Qu, came in.
After she graduated, Qin Murong had opened a café and hired professional baristas to work there.
However, she wasn’t at the shop most of the time.
She didn’t care if the café was losing money as she had more money than she could ever spend. Even if the café was losing money, she could cover the losses.
The reason she started her own business was so that she didn’t look like she was lazing around.
When people would ask about her job, she could confidently say that she was the owner of a café.
