Chapter 345 : Protect Tan Mo
“If he likes you, then he should’ve gone all out. How can he give up before anything happens? There’s no way I can let you date a guy like him,” Wei Zhiqian said. “If anything happens between you two, Cheng Xiuze will give up on you easily. He’s not someone you can hand your daughter to.”
Tan Mo couldn’t but silently defend Cheng Xiuze in her head.
The first thing that a person found another person attractive for was because of something they possessed.
Perhaps it was their looks or it could be their money or their personality.
If it were hard to truly understand a person even after knowing them for a long time, the early stages of being attracted to them would be worse.
If a person were attracted to another person because of their appearance, then it would be easy to forget that person as the attraction was not based on a deep bond.
For Cheng Xiuze to walk away without causing a scene or being persistent was the best ending Tan Mo could ever ask for.
Even if Cheng Xiuze had not seemed to give up, Wei Zhiqian would never have approved of him anyway.
“If he asks you out again, don’t go with him,” Wei Zhiqian warned her. “If anyone tries to ask you out in the future, let me know first. I’ll have to see if the guy is reliable. If they aren’t, then you just need to ignore them.”
“Okay!” Tan Mo quickly promised.
It was only after she had done that that Wei Zhiqian would leave.
But, after walking toward the gate, he suddenly stopped and turned around to make sure Tan Mo was still watching him as he left.
Tan Mo was utterly speechless by now.
It sure is getting harder to please Uncle nowadays…
Tan Mo waited until Wei Zhiqian was out of sight before heading back into the dorm.
On his way home, Wei Zhiqian kept thinking of what had happened and got restless.
He couldn’t believe that he had had to deal with two flies in a single day.
Neither of the guys were up to his standards.
Jiang Siyong was the worse of the two, a piece of garbage that could be found anywhere. Even among the trash, he was probably the worst.
As for Cheng Xiuze, he was a decent person with a tiny problem. He wasn’t honest enough.
Wei Zhiqian shook his head in disappointment.
There was no way he could be at ease when he couldn’t keep a good eye on Tan Mo.
It would be wrong if Tan Mo were to date some playboy and get bullied in the end.
Wei Zhiqian was even more determined to make sure that would not happen.
After pondering for a while, he asked his driver to turn around.
He decided to not go back to the place he had bought near his office.
Even though the Wei Mansion wasn’t really that far away from the company, he would usually work until very late at night and was too tired to make the trip home.
So he bought himself a new place right near his office.
At first, he had called a taxi and planned to head to the new place after leaving Beijing University, but now he asked the driver to head back to the housing area near the university.
What a pr*ck! The driver couldn’t help but complain to himself.
It would only take ten minutes to walk from the university to the housing area, and Wei Zhiqian had to hail a taxi and tour around the city for half an hour before heading there.
After exiting the taxi, Wei Zhiqian walked into the housing area.
When Wei Zhiqian had started studying at Beijing University, Xiao Menghan had been worried that Wei Zhiqian would not get used to living with roommates and had bought him an apartment so that he could stay there alone.
The apartments in the housing area weren’t big.
Even the biggest one only had three rooms and two toilets.
Xiao Menghan had bought the biggest one for Wei Zhiqian, and it had been months since Wei Zhiqian had last returned there.
The room was cleaned once a week so that if Tan Mo ever wanted, she could go and live there.
That was Wei Zhiqian’s plan at first. He had never thought that he would one day stay there again.
After getting into the apartment, he took a quick shower, brushed his teeth, and changed into his pajamas before lying down on the bed.
He logged into his WeChat and created a group chat consisting of him and the three brothers of the Tan family.
He set the group chat name as: Protect Tan Mo from Trash.
Tan Jinqi and Tan Jinsheng were speechless when they found out about the group chat, while Tan Jinyi asked, “What the heck is this?”
“Mo Mo just turned 18 last Friday,” Wei Zhiqian replied. “This is her first time coming back to school since she has become an adult, right? Like the first day?”
“And?” Tan Jinsheng asked, not understanding what had gone wrong with Wei Zhiqian suddenly.
“Well. Just today alone, I stopped two guys from trying to ask Mo Mo out on a date. I only arrived at the campus after 6:00 pm, and I’ve already had run-ins with two of them. How many more dumb guys do you think will try and ask Mo Mo out when I’m not watching? Aren’t you guys even a little worried? You three are unfit to call yourself Mo Mo’s brothers!”
Since Wei Zhiqian hated typing, he decided to just yell into his phone and let it type the last sentence.
He was literally blaming the brothers for not doing their jobs.
“What the h*ll? Who?” Tan Jinsheng replied. “Who tried to ask Mo Mo out?”
“One was Jiang Siyong. You know, the guy who wouldn’t let you guys use the red carpet last Friday?” Wei Zhiqian was worried that the brothers wouldn’t be bothered to remember a small-time nobody like Jiang Siyong and reminded them of who he was. “I can’t believe that just after he tried to sabotage Mo Mo’s 18th birthday party, he would actually try and ask her out. Maybe he saw something in Mo Mo that day? He actually waited outside the campus the whole day and asked her out in front of everyone. When Mo Mo rejected him, he literally stood there so that she couldn’t leave.”
“Whaaat?” Tan Jinyi was furious.
“I’m going to teach that Jiang Siyong a lesson tomorrow!” Tan Jinsheng roared.
“Well, I definitely didn’t expect that Jiang Siyong would actually try to date Mo Mo, but I was still worried that some idiotic guy would try to do that, so I went to visit her today. Luckily, I got there in time to stop him and chased him away,” Wei Zhiqian said. “I don’t think he will go after Mo Mo again, but it wouldn’t hurt if you guys warned him one more time. That would be the best.”
“I’ll do that tomorrow,” Tan Jinqi finally said in a cold tone.
“How dare that piece of trash try to date our Mo Mo!” Tan Jinyi sneered.
“And, then when I walked Mo Mo back to her dorm tonight, she ran into one of her seniors outside her dorm. He’s one of Professor Yue’s students and was waiting for her. He actually tried to ask Mo Mo out to a meal alone as a way to show his gratitude for her help to the team,” Wei Zhiqian continued. “Naturally, our pure Mo Mo didn’t think much about it, but I can easily tell what he was aiming for.”
“These type of men who use an excuse to invite a girl out are useless. Is it that hard to just tell them what you want?” Tan Jinqi scoffed.
Wow! Congrats! You’ve learned how to answer before I even asked the question. Wei Zhiqian laughed to himself. “That’s what I was thinking as well.”
