Chapter 729: Flattery
She was really going all out this time.
“No.”
Qin Yuan’s heart instantly sank. She knew it was useless to beg Sheng Yang, but she just couldn’t accept it. She really wanted to go.
Sheng Yang looked at her and continued, “This is not something I can decide. You have to find Chancellor Liao and see what he says.”
Qin Yuan lifted her head abruptly. Sheng Yang had pointed out a path for her, but the next moment, her eyes darkened.
Chancellor Liao? She didn’t seem to have his number.
“Here.” Sheng Yang wrote a piece of paper and passed it to her. Qin Yuan scanned through it in a second. There were 11 digits, but why did Sheng Yang have Chancellor Liao’s number?
“Believe it or not, it’s up to you,” Sheng Yang said before continuing with her work.
Seeing that she had no other choice, Qin Yuan could only dial the number skeptically.

Three days later, a bus appeared at the entrance of Imperial Capital University. Chancellor Liao was also there, waiting with Ji Qingming and the other teachers.
Chancellor Liao did not have much of an expression on his face, as if he was just doing his job.
The door of the bus opened and an old man with silver hair and a full beard came down first. He had the typical physical appearance of a white man. He was tall with fat lower limbs and a thick waist, but his features were deep-set. He had blonde hair, blue eyes, and a high nose. He wore silver round glasses with a chain around them. He was Wilson, the teacher who led the team of Ivy League students last year.
Even though he was chubby, smiling, and had an honest and kind appearance, he was actually the most sinister one. It was precisely because of this teacher that the students under him were so fearless.
As soon as he got out of the car, he glanced around and said in English with a smile, “Nothing here seems to have changed.”
Chancellor Liao said with a cold expression, “Teacher Wilson, I know that you can speak Chinese. Since you’re already here, it’s better to do as the Romans do.”
“Why? Chancellor Liao, is your English bad?”
Before Chancellor Liao could react, Ji Qingming greeted Wilson in English, “Teacher Wilson, long time no see.”
Chancellor Liao could not help but roll his eyes at him, while Ji Qingming pretended to be innocent. Since they had come from afar, they should at least have the demeanor of a big country.
After explaining to Chancellor Liao with his eyes, Ji Qingming tried his best to appease both sides. Then, he walked forward and shook Wilson’s hand. “How’s BIO’s editor-in-chief, Mr. Austin? When you go back, greet him for me.”
Chancellor Liao did not know what to say for a moment. Previously, he had only thought that Teacher Ji was ambitious and eager for quick success. Now, he realized that he was not clear about the big picture.
He wanted to be the director of the university? Heh, with such a personality, he was probably far from it.
After waiting for a long time, the Ivy League students alighted from the bus one after another. Their eyes swept around without any restraint. They did not look like they were here for a visit, but more like they were here to shop in a vegetable garden.
Most of the students were white, but there were also black people. This was because the Ivy League was a diverse place. The universities were located in the northeast part of the United States and had all kinds of people. Black people were physically fit and would also enter as special students.
Ji Qingming thought too much. Chancellor Liao still had the demeanor he should have. He said slowly, “All of you must be tired after coming all the way here. I’ll take you to the cafeteria to eat first, then arrange for your accommodation.”
He still insisted on speaking Chinese. He knew that these people, whether they were students or teachers, could understand Chinese and were even proficient. Otherwise, the Ivy League would not have sent them here.
