Chapter 587 : Gone to Fight
Yao Tang was as lazy as ever. “Whatever you think needs to be done, please help me in filling them out.” She shrugged.
The President originally wanted to bring her over and let her go through this entire process, but he agreed in the end.
If she didn’t want to join now, then he’d feel his insides turn bright green in regret. The only thing he could do was lock this agreement in.
As soon as he ended the call, he headed to the Sports Association.
Lin Xin, who had been listening to the call the entire time, could only widen her eyes in surprise.
She glanced at the screen to see that there had been even more discussions about Sheng Ting becoming the brand ambassador for the Sports Association.
Li Zhou added fuel to the flame by posting in the internet.
“The Royal Tennis Club would win against the Sports Association. That’s a fact,” he posted. “In fact, why don’t we make a bet? The ambassador whose team has lost would have to leave the industry. After all, the industry only needs those with integrity, not those who only ever care about the money.”
Lin Xin resisted the urge to sigh.
The Royal Tennis Club had been improving over the past few years. They recruited so many talents by offering extremely generous conditions.
The amount of money they had invested in this surpassed that spent by the Sports Association.
The Association was already showing signs of its lack of membership, and its limited budget could only recruit so many. Everyone knew that it was bound to meet its downfall someday.
In recent years, it had the upper hand, but now, it seemed that it was the other way around.
From the looks of it, Li Zhou’s chances of winning were quite high.
It was why he had made a bet.
If Sheng Ting had agreed to this bet and lost, he’d be ridiculed by absolutely everyone online. He’d have to follow the rules and not enter the industry again. Otherwise, he’d be critiqued for being a man who didn’t stick to his word.
However, if he ignored his request, the netizens would think that he truly didn’t believe in his team. In this case, he shouldn’t be the ambassador for the association.
Lin Xin knew that her idol was in a tough spot. What he didn’t expect was for Yao Tang to make a move herself.
If she joined, she might be able to turn the tables around!
Although she didn’t know much about tennis or professional players, she knew about Yao Tang.
And she was the best!
She was so good that even the President of the Sports Association himself had reached out to invite her. That meant that she was extremely talented.
She could win!
“When are you going to tell Sheng to stop getting affected by these comments.”
Lin Xin looked like a worried mother as she gazed at all the comments popping up on her screen. Her lips curled as she saw the numerous posts.
“I hope we can meet those tennis players and beat them! Let’s see if they’d be so arrogant then!”
She glared up at her friend. “You can beat them, right? You have to let them regret it!”
Qin Jing was seated right beside them, crossing her arms over her chest.
She had been listening to them this entire time.
“Sister Tang, I think you can beat them! Make them all cry back to their parents’ arms. Arrogant asses wouldn’t know what’s coming for them.”
Qin Jing sniffled as she, too, checked out her phone. She was positive that her friend would be able to beat them all in one swing.
There was no way she’d be backing down because of this.
Yao Tang’s lips twitched.
Why did they make it sound like she was going to fight them to the death?
“Just do your exams well. The monthly exam is coming soon, and we have a week before the preliminaries.”
Almost immediately, the two froze.
They had actually been looking forward to that day, at least…secretly. It was the day when their knowledge would be tested and their results would be announced.
Other than Yao Tang and Qin Jing, the majority of the classroom used to be underachievers. As such, their results weren’t that great.
But their weekly exams gave them a glimmer of hope that they could be better.
The monthly exam was definitely something they were anticipating for.
Everyone was watching them. They had all seen their efforts during this period of time, and they wanted to see if these efforts were in vain.
After all, in other people’s eyes, a bad student would always be a bad student. There was no going back from that.
